LAFAYETTE, La. — Artists with a passion for sustainability are invited to submit their work to an upcoming exhibition hosted by the Lafayette Art Association. The exhibition will focus on reuse, repurposing, and recycling. Submissions for the show will be accepted from May 10 through May 17 during regular gallery hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.The exhibit will run from May 20 to June 14, with a public reception scheduled for May 24.

LAFAYETTE, La. — The 2025 NFL Draft was a major occasion for many aspiring athletes; nearly 300 players were selected to join their respective teams. Among these athletes was Jack Bech, a Lafayette native and former LSU and TCU wide receiver, who was selected No. 58 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders. The good news for the community is that a public pool will soon open after being closed for 6 years. The public pool at Girard Park is expected to open on May 22. After years of standing empty, the pool has been cleaned and is currently being filled with water.

LAFAYETTE, La. — As warmer weather returns and more motorcyclists take to the roads, the Acadiana Transportation Safety Coalition is reminding drivers and riders that May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. Ron Czajkowski, Safety Coordinator for the ATSC, stressed the importance of awareness during this time of year. "This time of year, is when we see the most activity with people pulling out their motorcycles for rides," says Czajkowski. "That's why we want to put attention to it.
