The implication is that for much of the rest of the year, you'll roast in the heat, save for some months when you'll "freeze" in the cold. Parked along the side of Potomac Avenue lining Historic Union Cemetery, she was touched by the crowds respectfully filing in, neighbors arriving to pay tribute to fallen veterans on Memorial Day. Kern County Board of Supervisors Chairwoman Leticia Perez shared that sentiment during a solemn morning ceremony, her voice breaking with emotion as she spoke slowly, steadily. "I was reminded of how final death is, in so many ways, this place, this location. We know on this earth the finality of death.
