Around 10 million people remain under fire alerts in an area stretching from South Dakota down to Texas and Arizona on Sunday afternoon. Wind gusts as high as 30-40 mph, combined with warm temperatures, dry vegetation and relative humidity values as low as 5%, are expected to create hazardous conditions for the development of new fires. San Antonio, Texas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; Santa Fe, New Mexico; and Tucson, Arizona, are among the areas at risk.

A slow-moving low-pressure system is bringing snow, rain and gusty winds to the Northeast this weekend. Winter alerts are in effect from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET for parts of the Green Mountains in Vermont, the Berkshires in Massachusetts and the Catskill Mountains in New York. An additional 1 to 3 inches of snow are possible across parts of Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Maine.

A weekend of heavy rainfall and deadly flash flooding continues for parts of the South and Midwest, with around 34 million people under flood alerts across the Mid-South and Southeast on Sunday. At least 17 people have been killed as a result of severe weather, with a majority of the deaths — 10 — reported in Tennessee. The latest death, a 57-year-old O'Fallon, Missouri man whose car entered flood waters, was reported Sunday morning by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
