It’s been several years since I had seen it, and I honestly forgot how much joy that movie brought me. Logan: We put the pickle on the Christmas tree and search for it every Christmas morning.
Georgia Tech to face Vanderbilt in Birmingham Bowl

Photo by Julio Aguilar/Getty Images As confirmed by the Atlantic Coast Conference, Georgia Tech’s 2024 season finale will take place at the Birmingham Bowl on Friday, December 27 against Vanderbilt at 3:30pm EST on ESPN. As bowl announcements came out from the ACC, it followed expectations that Tech was likely going to Birmingham or Boston, eventually getting Birmingham. This will be Tech’s first matchup against Vanderbilt in a postseason setting after 38 previous meetings.

Brett Davis-Imagn Images Namrebeil: What is the most important thing in a bowl opponent (ie high profile, beatability, etc) and what team would fit that among plausible ones? Ben: Honestly, I couldn’t care less who Tech plays or where they play. No matter what those two things are, Georgia Tech will be getting 15 extra practices, which is terrific! So since opponent and location don’t impact that, I don’t really care who or where they play.

I’ve got eighteen million thoughts rattled around my emotionally exhausted brain and there’s no way to tame them all into a cohesive narrative that makes any sense. Maybe Friday night just broke me, I dunno; I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say that I’ve never experienced anything like that before.

Ben: Nothing has been officially confirmed about the extent of King’s injury, and I don’t expect that it will be officially confirmed before the offseason, if it happens at all. I think with how well Philo came on against NC State, there is a case that he should ride out the rest of the season and the bowl game so that King can completely heal up.

Tech did everything they could to lose, giving up 22 fourth quarter points that included a go-ahead TD for the Wolfpack with just 90 seconds remaining as well as allowing a potential game-winning FG attempt.

The defense played an incredible game, holding Miami to their lowest point total all season and half of their previous season average (47.3 down to 23). Jamal Haynes went out early with an injury but the run game kept on churning to a total of 274 yards with eight different players recording a carry. Tech only went down once early but immediately took the lead back and never gave it up again.
