1. IntroductionBullous pemphigoid (BP) is one of the most frequent autoimmune bullous diseases that mainly occurs in the elderly and display no gender predilection. The cumulative incidence of BP is 8.2/million individuals, which is higher in Europe than in Asia (1). Although the incidence is generally low, the risk of developing BP increases with age. Studies have shown that people over 90 years of age have a 300-fold increased risk compared to people under 60 years of age (2).
