Fast forward five years, and just over a month ago, Patek unveiled yet another iteration of the 5370—this time in pink gold, with a stunning two-tone dial.

The launch of their first-ever sports model in stainless steel took the watch world by surprise, and reactions were mixed. While I have always been a huge fan, many were less enthused about the integrated bracelet, despite admiring the case and dial design.

In the 1970s, having a sports watch with an integrated bracelet was all the rage. A precious metal sports watch that not only looked the part but also functioned as a reliable tool watch was essential—despite the apparent contradiction. The Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta, was Audemars Piguet’s answer to this conundrum. Patek Philippe followed suit with the Nautilus, also designed by Genta, while Vacheron Constantin introduced the ‘222’ to mark its 222nd anniversary.

It’s been some time since Omega refreshed the “First Omega in Space” (FOiS) collection. The first reissue, introduced in 2012, recreated the iconic CK2998 reference, and Speedmaster enthusiasts couldn’t get enough of it. The numbered edition quickly became a hit. In 2016, Omega unveiled a limited edition FOiS in blue two-tone, featuring a panda dial and a blue tachymeter bezel.

The simple time-only Rolex is usually reserved for the Oyster Perpetual line. However, last year, Rolex decided it was time to introduce a more high-end time-only timepiece, resurrecting a design from the archives. Among enthusiasts, Rolex is well-known for their early bubble-back watches, which served as the design inspiration for the new Perpetual 1908 line. This new model line, introduced in either 18-carat yellow or white gold, with an option of a black or silver dial, consists of four watches.
