Police responded to the scene of the incident near the Student Union with the FBI assisting, and four people have been injured. According to ABC News a suspect in the shooting is in custody and there is an ongoing search for possible additional shooters.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence Mayor Brett Smiley has unveiled his proposed budget for the 2026 fiscal year. The biggest takeaways include increasing property bills, making millions of dollars in cuts and increasing revenue.
