    SACRAMENTO — Eighteen holes of golf wasn’t enough to determine the final qualifier to this year’s CIF Sac-Joaquin Sections Masters golf tournament. After both shooting rounds of 73 at Tuesday’s Division 2 Tournament from Sacramento’s par-72 Bing Maloney Golf Course, Turlock’s Carter Van Gaalen and Woodcreek’s Vanish Bains marched towards the 17th to begin a two-hole playoff with the sixth and final individual Masters spot on the line.

After a thrilling, 8-6 win over No. 7 McClatchy in Wednesday's opening round of the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs, the No. 10 Bulldogs were blanked by the second-seeded Rocklin Thunder by a 3-0 score in the quarterfinal round on Friday.

They headlined a list of five Bulldogs to qualify for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Individual and Doubles tournaments that take place later this month.
