DiscussionThis paper has described the results of a study showing that linguistic markers associated with proneness to engage in acts of extreme violence can be measured in online groups. The linguistic violence risk markers found across our datasets mirrored the known actual links of the examined groups to real-world violence and terrorist activities, enabling us to test our framework. This exploratory application allows us to develop the Violence Risk Index.
