Join me as I embrace the nomadic lifestyleHi, I’m Chris. I’m starting something new and wanted you to be part of it. It’s called “Nomadic Insights.” I thought it sounded cool. But I don’t really care about the name. So here’s the deal: I’m tired of the same old soul-sucking routine and craving some freedom. Classic Millennium and classic Aquarius. Doesn’t want to do anything by the book. That’s why I’m diving into the YouTube world. I’m not much of a writer, but I do like sharing what I learn.

Travelling to IndiaIndia is a spectacular place, very difficult to describe with words. It is an explosion to all your senses. I’ve been to India three times and during my first trip, I spent a little over a year there. I travelled throughout India as a backpacker and eventually settled down in an Ashram. During my travels, I saw a bit of everything — all sorts of different personalities and languages as well as animals and buildings.

Finding a balance between a full-time job and the motivation to write on Medium can be tricky. You leave work, your brain fried from the day only to face the blank page. The dream is there, and in the mind it makes sense — sharing your thoughts, stories, and insights with the world through writing. But the reality is you’re tired. It’s not just the physical tiredness; it’s the brain fog too.

Overcoming addiction is like walking through a long, dark tunnel. There is no light, and sometimes it feels like the darkness will never end. But slowly, every step you take is a step away from that darkness. You will stumble and fall; but you MUST get back up. This might be the hardest thing you’ve ever done, but it is worth it. Every time you get back up you, you prove TO YOURSELF just how strong you really are, even if it doesn’t feel like it at the moment.

I’ve been there. In the darkest corners of my mind, where hope seems like a distant dream and happiness a foreign concept. My battle with depression and anxiety has been a long one, compounded by a gripping addiction to crack and heroin. It felt like psychological torture, a never-ending cycle of despair. But here I am, sharing my story, not as a victim but as a survivor, and hopefully, as a beacon of hope for someone out there. The first step to surviving these moments is acknowledging them.

Life’s full of chances to learn, no matter where you look. When things get really tough, that’s when we grow the most. But remember, finding a middle ground is important. No need to look for trouble. Just stay awake to what’s happening around you. Every step you take, big or small, teaches you something. Mistakes? They’re just lessons in disguise. Celebrate the wins, but don’t overlook the power of a hard day. Talk to people. Everyone’s got a story that could change you. Change is constant.

“You are not responsible for your disease, but you are responsible for your behavior.”When someone we care about gets caught up in addiction, it’s like watching them get swallowed by a storm. This storm doesn’t just rage around them; it pulls in family and friends too, testing bonds and patience. Navigating through this means finding a way to be there for them without getting lost ourselves. This is where tough love comes into play.
