There are always many reasons to visit Toronto, and that is especially true for film fans. Spree often shares festivals and film events in the city, and one of the most unique is TIFF’s Next Wave Film Festival. Running from April 10 to 13, the festival is dedicated to championing the next generation of filmmakers and cinephiles. Uniquely, it is specifically geared toward ages 14 to 24.

It’s time once again for my top 10 of the year list for @TheFilmStage, and I found much to enjoy in 2024 … BTW, I’m quite pleased this list gave me a chance to mention the use of Blur and The Verve in Andrea Arnold’s BIRD (as well as its priceless “dad music” joke). On to 2025!

'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,' 'Hard Truths,' and 'The Brutalist' are among @FilmSwoon's top 10 films of 2024: https://t.co/TH5Z2tstnt https://t.co/UUfb7lL1KS
