1 INTRODUCTION Linear mixed models (LMM)1 are often the primary analysis tool for longitudinal markers related to some disease, especially when the timing of measurements is irregular and/or missing data are present. Commonly, missing marker data are in the form of dropout, that is, data are unavailable after a certain time point before the scheduled study termination.
