Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Thursday criticised the Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru, for downplaying the Senate’s proposed Security Summit, warning that such comments could spark a rift between the Executive and Legislature. Akpabio made the remarks after Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele informed the chamber of Badaru’s assertion that the planned summit was “unnecessary.”“If Defence has any issue with the Senate’s resolution, it shouldn’t be expressed in the market,” Akpabio said.

At least 3,110 graduates have applied for the Young Farmers Agricultural Revolution Program initiated by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, across the seven States of the North West. A statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Deputy President of the Senate, Ismail Mudashir, revealed that Kano State, which has 44 Local Government Areas, recorded the highest number of applicants with 998 submissions.
