A number of changes were agreed upon at the first Fermanagh GAA county board meeting of the year. After a number of years of being on the table, the motion to go from two Senior Football League divisions to three was passed. This had been brought by Newtownbutler and Brookeborough and will come into action for the 2026 season. It is understood Division One will be made up of eights teams, Division Two will consist of six as will Division Three.

Enniskillen swimmer, Ellie McCartney, had the perfect warm-up for the upcoming World Aquatic Championships with an outstanding performance at the Scottish National Short Course Championships in Edinburgh's Royal Commonwealth Pool. Representing the National Centre Limerick, McCartney dominated her signature event, the 200m breaststroke. After qualifying as the top seed in the preliminaries, she faced a highly anticipated duel against British champion Kara Hanlon.

Twenty-nine members of the Splitz Gymnastics Club Acro Squad travelled to Newtownabbey, Belfast, to compete in the annual Flight Acro Classic competition, hosted by Flight Gymnastics. The event attracted over 350 gymnasts from across Ireland and Scotland. Splitz’s National Development Squad, which trains up to three days a week, proved their mettle, achieving strong medal positions and showcasing their ability to compete with the best in Ireland.

5 1/1 16 swimmers from Enniskillen Lakelanders Swimming Club travelled to the impressive facilities at Omagh Leisure Centre for the second instalment of Swim Ulster’s Future Challengers series on Saturday, December 8. This gala, aimed at swimmers aged 10–14, provided an exciting opportunity for personal bests (PBs) and a fun morning of competitive swimming.
