The traffic moves slowly these days on Frazier Avenue. It's one of the beautiful places in Chattanooga that attracts tourists and locals. A place meant for fun. A place that attracted the Devia family from Jacksonville, FL to spend their Thanksgiving here. Octavio says he and his wife liked to take family trips for the holidays. His wife Anna found Chattanooga online and chose it for the scenery. Octavio said she was excited to see the beautiful mountains and the Walnut Street Bridge.

After nearly three decades on the bench, the longest serving judge in Hamilton County Circuit Court had one wish for Christmas this year before giving up the gavel. Judge Marie Williams asked her colleagues to let her handle every adoption case on the December docket before she retires. None of them would deny that request. In fact her courtroom was the site of 10 adoptions one Friday in December. "We'll be sad to see her go,” said attorney Mike Jennings.

The project to remove lead contamination on the Southside of Chattanooga has been happening for several years now, and thousands of properties may be affected. On Monday, the Health Department, EPA, and state experts gave an update on the cleanup process. An influx of funding from the Bilateral Infrastructure Law is helping step up the project. The law helped them receive close to $22 million in funding, with the estimated cost of lead cleanup at $113.5 million.
