AbstractBlue phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) are highly efficient, although their short operational lifetimes have limited their commercial acceptance in displays and lighting. A high density of energetic triplet excitons accumulates in the emission layer that eventually annihilate, leading to molecular degradation.
