1. IntroductionMiRs are ~22 nucleotide non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression through association with target gene mRNAs, often at the 3′UTR. A single transcript can be targeted by several miRs, and individual miRs can target hundreds of genes, resulting in complex networks of tissue- and disease-specific interactions.
