A couple's tenth wedding anniversary is a momentous occasion – but Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden will have even more reason to celebrate on Friday 13 June, as they christen their baby daughter, Princess Ines, on the very same day. The Swedish royals recently confirmed the date of the baptism, and that it would take place at Drottningholm Palace Chapel in Stockholm, the exact same venue where Carl Philip and Sofia tied the knot in 2015.

It is an auspicious week for the Japanese imperial family, as Princess Tomohito of Mikasa celebrates her milestone 70th birthday. Born Nobuko Asō in Tokyo in 1955, the Princess is the third daughter and youngest child of Takakichi Asō, and the sister of former prime minister, Tarō Asō. Descended from Japanese nobility in her own right, she married Prince Tomohito – first cousin of Emperor Akihito – in 1980, further solidifying her aristocratic status amid the country's high society.
