A 10-foot-long alligator made its way into a Brunswick County backyard. The reptile was spotted in Southport on West 11th Street Sunday morning. In a post on Facebook, Southport police said they received a tip around 7 a.m. about a large alligator spotting. Police Chief Todd Coring said a resident walking in the neighborhood first spotted and reported the gator. “The picture that they sent in, he was about a block away from where we actually located him,” Chief Coring said.
