US corn export sales to European Union nations are surging as President Donald Trump’s tariff pause accelerates a shift to American supplies following smaller crops elsewhere. The US Department of Agriculture on Tuesday announced corn export sales of 110,000 tons to Portugal. That’s added to buying from other countries in the region. For the week ended April 3, total export sales to the EU reached 2.9 million tons, compared with 31,000 tons in the same week a year earlier, USDA data show.
