    Visitors to Southgate Park in south Petaluma are greeted by the welcoming sight of 13 galvanized steel planters, arranged here and there around the park. Each features its own array of well-tended perennial flowers, thanks to an “Adopt-a-Pot” program launched by a neighborhood group that seeks to voice the needs of the park and get neighbors involved in making it better. Each planter is under the care of a different local family.
