Burghardt Sporting Goods announced it will close its Fox Point location May 31 to focus on its headquarters in New Berlin. The store, which is family owned and sells sports equipment and apparel, announced in an April 30 news release it would not renew its Fox Point lease at 8625 N. Port Washington Road in the RiverPoint Village Shopping Center. In the meantime, everything at the Fox Point store is discounted by at least 20%, according to the company's Facebook page.

A new movie being filmed in Milwaukee featuring Kevin Spacey wrapped on at Uncle Wolfie's on May 8. On the ESPN Wisconsin radio show that aired the morning of May 9, Good Karma Brand owner Craig Karmazin told the hosts he was an extra for the final scene shot at the diner downtown with Spacey and actress Frances Fisher, who played Kate Winslet's mother in the Titanic.

After around 14 years in Glendale, the Chicago-style gourmet hot dog restaurant Dr. Dawg will soon move to Thiensville. The business's new Thiensville restaurant is over 8 miles north of its Glendale location, at 105 W. Freistadt Road where the Daily Taco & Cantina used to operate. Both the Daily Taco and its sister restaurant The Cheel, under the same ownership, closed near the end of 2024.

A Milwaukee-based popsicle company known for colorful carts and creative flavors is bringing frozen treats to the Village of Grafton during summer 2025. Pete’s Pops received conditional use approval from the Grafton Plan Commission on April 22 to open a new walk-up popsicle stand at 1102 Beech St. The seasonal shop will offer gourmet popsicles through window service and has plans to open by June 2025, according to the village's April 23 development newsletter.
