On Friday, April 25th Bluefield West Virginia resident Robert Searle was coming home from a recovery group at a church to discover his home where he lived with grandson, Joseph Bomgardner Jr. was up in flames.

TAZEWELL, Va. (WVVA) -Summer is often a time when kids forgo education for fun in the sun. However, in Tazewell County, a camp is letting kids have fun, while getting a lesson in environmental science and the world around them. Brought to life by the Tazewell Soil & Water Conservation District, the “Creek Critter Camp” was created with the goal of giving kids something over summer break that combines fun and learning, to keep their minds engaged outside of the classroom.

(WVVA) -With a new lodge opening and other additions coming to the Pipestem Resort State Park, new opportunities are now available for those looking for employment in the picturesque mountains of the Mountain State. The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources set up at Princeton’s ‘WorkForce West Virginia’ to let people know about the more than 120 positions available at the Pipestem Resort State Park.

BLUEFIELD, Va. (WVVA) -A new restaurant has opened in downtown Bluefield, Virginia that hopes to offer something unique in a family atmosphere. Co-owner and manager of “SeaGull Seafood Restaurant,” Ahmed Derwich, says he had been thinking of opening an Italian restaurant, but noticed a lack of seafood options in the area, and wanted to bring something different to the table. Opening over the weekend, this restaurant has a variety of fish and shrimp options, as well as chicken, burgers, and subs.

TAZEWELL, Va. (WVVA) -With school out in Tazewell County, a museum is using the summer months to educate kids about our area’s history, using fun to give them a taste of what life was like centuries ago. The Historic Crab Orchard Museum first began holding their “Little Pioneers Camp” a few years ago to host kids aged four to seven when COVID canceled field trips.
