Clayton Woods pitched a one-hit, complete game shutout to help the Culver-Stockton College baseball team earn a split at William Penn University Thursday afternoon at Statesmen Ballpark in Oskaloosa, Iowa. The Statesmen claimed an 8-5 victory in the first game of the four-game series that is scheduled to continue Saturday, March 23, with the final two games in Oskaloosa.

The Culver-Stockton baseball team completed its opening weekend with a pair of losses to Bethel University at Wildcat Park in McKenzie, Tenn. The Wildcats dropped the opening game 5-4 on a bases-loaded, walk-off single by Bethel in the bottom of the seventh inning. In the nightcap, Bethel plated seven runs in the first two innings en route to a 9-3 victory.
