Clarence girls lacrosse coach Cat Vandenburgh credits an early May team meeting for turning around the team’s season. It was a Saturday following the team’s 14-10 loss to Aquinas Institute. Instead of practicing, the session was canceled for a pancake breakfast to discuss why the team was in a 1-3 funk – one win against East Aurora and losses against Orchard Park and Webster Thomas. “We canceled practice that Saturday morning and the team got together for a pancake breakfast,” Vandenburgh said.
