Responding to more-strict federal regulations against PFOA/PFOS contamination in drinking water, Buckingham Township has authorized pursuit of a $1,000,000 Statewide Local Share Assessment Grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority, to support further remediation of well water for its water and sewer customers. The action was taken at Wednesday's board of supervisors meeting.

Richland Township is continuing consideration of a zoning change request, from Rural Agricultural to Suburban Residential, from a developer now proposing 132 single family units on an 80-acre site on Paletown Road near Old Bethlehem Pike. The consideration, still in the sketch plan stage, was conducted by the board of supervisors at its Oct. 14 meeting, as a discussion with the developer — Cornerstone Premier Homes, of North Wales — and its planner — Seidel Planning & Design, of Pottstown.

Following a slide presentation during public comment at Wednesday's school board meeting, a group of Palisades parents requested student cell phone use restrictions during school hours. The board indicated there would be consideration of which board committee the matter would be referred to. During the slide presentation, one parent claimed a relationship between a decline in test scores since 2012, and the “explosion of smartphone and social media use” at that time.
