Felt has a long history with drop bar offroad racing. In 2011, the company signed U.S. cyclocross star Ryan Trebon. In 2014, the company had as many as five cyclocross models, including a dedicated singlespeed model called the Breed. The company sponsored Wout van Aert during his 2018 Cyclocross Worlds-winning campaign (see our Van Aert bike profile) and his Crelan-Charles team.

Over many years we at Cyclocross Magazine have ridden and reviewed many products. Not all of them make it to our pages, but some of the items have come to be our favorites. Sometimes we are allowed to keep the products we review, but sometimes we like the item so much that we purchase it ourselves. Yet compared to five years ago, there are few dedicated cyclocross bikes in the United States, partly due to the high popularity of gravel cycling and the bikes being relatively similar. T-Lab in Montreal, Quebec, Canada is a relatively new producer of titanium bicycles. The X3 is their first bike and remains a flagship of the T-Lab lineup. T-Lab’s founder and team members are not new to bicycle manufacturing. Several came from the custom high-end brand Guru Bikes, a company that had prominence in North American custom bike manufacturing, from the mid-aughts until 2015. T-Lab has no further connection with Guru.
