Seeta O’Neill of Maple Court, Phelimstown, Tullow, Co. Carlow pleaded guilty to eight charges under the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013. Shaun Brady was shot at close range in the car park of his restaurant, Brady & Fox, in Brookside, Kansas City. His wife, and the mother of his two kids, Kate Brady, sat at the back of the courtroom while family in Ireland watched proceedings via a webcam. Speaking to Neil Prendeville on Red FM, Mahon resident Louise Brazier-Graf said the attacks began a few weeks ago when a large group of boys used an elderly, stray cat as bait in a dog fight. “I went to close my windows and there was this commotion going on outside. There was a huge group of boys, about 10. “ They actually handed this poor defenseless cat to the lurchers,” she said.

A European Union Drugs Agency study has uncovered that 6 percent or more of people aged 15 to 34 have consumed MDMA in the last year, making the country the biggest users of the drug in the EU alongside the Netherlands. While MDMA declined from peak levels in the early to mid-2000s, data shows it is on the rise again suggesting it is no longer a niche party drug. However, use of the drug declined during the Covid-19 pandemic when nightlife shut down and had a “significant impact” on the market.
