From ages 3 to 13, Olivia Parra was exclusively a gymnast. Fast forward to 2025, and Parra is the team leader in hits, triples and home runs for Panther softball. Parra has worked through the Derby system from C-Team to JV and now varsity in her junior season. Through the season, she has become a reliable bat for the Panthers and has been walking into the batter's box with plenty of confidence.

The competition for spring sports is heating up, and hopefully, the weather will do the same. The Panthers are showing plenty of momentum late in the season, and the postseason is already beginning for one spring sport. Swimming dominates home inviteDerby swimming won the Derby Invitational hosted at Campus High School on May 6. The Panthers finished with a total score of 511. The team of Ridlee Parkhurst, Hope Friedel, Leah Rogers and Michaela Blankenship won the 200 medley relay.

Fresh off an appearance in the National Baseball Congress tournament, the Derby Twins are gearing up for their 20th season in Derby. The organization is currently looking for host families for its players for the 2025 season. Host families are a valuable piece to the organization and open opportunities for the team to recruit players worldwide who are playing baseball at colleges throughout the country. Families also can open up their home to more than one player.

Tyler Bradt was a first-year tennis player as a freshman, but was a fast learner whose competitiveness fueled him to continue progressing through the sport. The two-time state qualifier has emerged as the top player for the Panthers this season. Bradt was convinced to start playing tennis by teammate Collin Bale. The two have progressed through the ranks of Derby tennis and are key pieces on the Derby varsity roster this spring.
