I’ve always enjoyed books, as I’m sure all of those who are part of the bookish community have, too. The touch and feel of a book, the art, the story — these are aspects of reading that are cherished by so many. What we’re not always aware of is the amount of hands that work on the pages we flip through. The reality is that books are more than authors. Many departments are required to bring a manuscript to bookshelves. These individuals work from the editorial department to marketing to design.

The story, so incredibly well done and unique, provides insight into the often difficult times that life brings on. The Fault In Our Stars was originally published in January 2012, written by YouTuber John Green.

Books, as we traditionally understand them, are ink on pages. However, this simple storytelling production isn’t the most inclusive format for writing. Yes, the paperbacks and hardbacks we are familiar with leave out many people when telling their stories. The question is, what is an inclusive text, and who needs it? Inclusive printing includes braille and audiobooks.

The Choice Awards on Goodreads has been going for 15 years. The event is a way for readers to vote and appreciate their favorite books of the year.
