    The UConn softball team hosted Fairfield at home for an out-of-conference game on Wednesday. The Huskies came out on top against their in-state rivals, winning 9-0 in five innings due to the NCAA run rule. The game also honored Lieutenant Colonel Peter Gardner, who was invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. The program came off an impressive 2-1 win in a three-game series against Providence. The last game of the series ended in a dominant 16-0 win for the Huskies.

    The UConn softball team traveled to Providence, R.I. for a three-game series against the Providence Friars. A doubleheader was played on Friday, with the final game played on Sunday. They finished the series with a 3-1 win.  The program came off an impressive 10-4 win at home against UMass. The team was led by senior Lexi Hastings, who had her second four-hit game and 13th multi-hit game of the season. Junior Grace Jenkins also contributed, recording her 11th multi-RBI game this season.

    On Wednesday, April 9th, the UConn softball team will host UMass for a home showdown at 4 p.m.  This weekend, the Huskies hosted the Butler Bulldogs at home in a three-game series. The team played three games and finished with a 2-1 record, narrowly winning the first game of the doubleheader on Friday, with a score of 10-9. They came up short in the second game, finishing with a final score of 4-9. The program finished up the series on Sunday, winning 5-3.

    The UConn softball team hosted Butler for a three-game series. A doubleheader was played on Friday, with the final game played on Sunday. They finished the series with a 3-1 win.  The team came off an impressive performance against Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Redshirt sophomore Sydnee Koosh led the team, pitching a complete game shutout, allowing the game to end with a final score of 9-0.

    The Women’s NCAA Tournament has taken a dominant start with top seeds showing exactly why they are ranked at the top. The six top teams, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UConn, Texas and LSU, have all contributed to setting the record for most points scored in a single round of the tournament. These programs all scored more than 100 points in first round blowouts.
