Kierston Russell, the twin sister of University of Alabama football quarterback Keelon Russell, has died, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office confirmed June 5. She was 18 years old. "There has been considerable media attention concerning a death investigation that occurred (in Tuscaloosa) on June 4, 2025," Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit wrote in a statement.

A Bear Bryant Alabama football offensive tackle has died. Steve Wright, who played for the Crimson Tide from 1961-63, died June 1 at a care facility in Augusta, Georgia, the Green Bay Packers announced. He was 82. Wright, also Louisville, Kentucky native, was a member of Alabama's national championship team in 1961 under head coach Bear Bryant and played two more seasons for the Crimson Tide before he was selected by the Packers in the fifth round of the 1964 NFL draft.
