As soon as the news landed on Friday afternoon, alarm bells started ringing. Exeter City published a bizarre 158-word statement confirming that Caleb Watts had rejected fresh terms with the club and would be leaving after his latest six-month deal had expired. The Grecians blasted Watts, saying: "We were unable to come close to matching the financial terms offered to Caleb by another club.

It's fair to say the summer has suddenly sprung to life. Exeter City fans were enjoying a tranquil break from the hustle and bustle of League One action before being rudely jolted awake with the news of Caleb Watts' defection to join Plymouth Argyle.

It's rare that Exeter City manage to get their hands on a player with the qualities that Demetri Mitchell possesses. Life comes at you fast, eh?

We have reluctantly allowed Miron Muslic to open talks with a 2. Bundesliga side, after he expressed his desire to speak with them. We are frustrated by this decision, having implemented clear structures, processes and personnel to aid Miron and his staff. Read our statement ⤵️

A weasel gone. Time to bring home the king, MJ

Obviously a good move for Watts in terms of £ etc. While he was one of City's more exciting players, it's a very low bar. I'd be surprised if he starts more than 50 games over the three year contract at Argyle. Surely they can do better? See you at SJP, Caleb 😂
