Swift Current’s Hailey Thompson was one of 15 runners from Saskatchewan who took part in the 129th Boston Marathon on April 21st, finishing the 42-kilometre race with a time of three hours, five minutes and 16 seconds. “I ran my first marathon in 2019, and I missed the Boston Marathon qualifying time by 42 seconds there, so then I was quite eager to break that,” Hailey said. “I ran a marathon again that fall and I was able to get a BQ, and then obviously COVID happened, but I wasn’t deterred.
