    This year’s National Safety Stand-down to Prevent Falls in Construction is being held May 5–9. OSHA and CPWR kicked off the stand-down with a webinar to talk about the event and the importance of fall-prevention strategies. Stand-downs like this offer employers and their employees the chance to pause work, raise any safety issues they may have and engage in open dialogue about how to address them based on the employer’s safety policies, goals and expectations.

    The 11th annual National Apprenticeship Day is April 30. This event is designed for employers, apprentices, labor organizations and more to show the value of participating in Registered Apprenticeships. National Apprenticeship Week is coordinated by the Department of Labor to promote Registered Apprenticeships in accordance with the National Apprenticeship Act. Week-long celebrations will resume next year. Events are being held around the United States.
