On the second floor of P.P.O.W Gallery, Clementine Keith-Roach walks around her sculptures that have just been uncrated for her first solo show with the gallery.“It's always a bit of a relief,” the artist tells me, “seeing them again after sending them off.” The six cast sculptures, part of “New Statue”, which runs through December 21 at the New York gallery, were shipped in from her studio in Dorset, United Kingdom, where she lives and works.

It’s the kind of mid-day New York humidity that tries to slowly suffocate you, but Chase Sui Wonders still looks just barely dewy when she meets me in the West Village rocking a vintage Dior button-down, breezy pajama shorts, and a tennis bag that’s locked and loaded for a game over at Hudson Courts later. Perhaps unwisely, we wind up sitting in the encased dining space outside Tea & Sympathy and order a piping hot pot of lapsang souchong, just in case we might want to schvitz a bit more.

Torishéju Dumi’s roots are paramount to her. Born in London to a Brazilian-Nigerian father and Nigerian mother, the London-based designer is inspired by her heritage, her Catholic upbringing, and her mother’s unique taste. Her Mami Wata capsule collection, seven pieces of which were acquired by The Met for its “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit, takes its name from the Nigerian goddess of water.

Christian Dior opened its first ever North American storefront dedicated to fragrance and beauty this week. Next to its men’s and women’s SoHo outposts on Greene Street, the boutique offers a selection of signature scents, skincare, and make-up products, as well as a service area where guests can receive careful make-up and fragrance consultations. The storefront gleams white and gold from within, where fragrances are displayed like gemstones.
