While caps and gowns will be the wardrobe of the day, students should know the graduation dress code for their schools. Some allow students to decorate the top of their mortarboards, other schools may prohibit it. Some schools require mortarboard decorations to be approved before the ceremony.

    Florida's first voluntary prekindergarten program began in 2005. The program is free for all 4-year-olds. School-readiness test scores show VPK prepares children for school. Five-year-old Marlaina Paulding likes playing in the tents in her VPK classroom at Felix A. Williams Elementary School in Martin County. She likes learning the alphabet and numbers, and the Spanish she learns from her teacher. "I like the color of the tents," said Marlaina.

The lawsuit aims to hold social media accountable for mental health issues its young users develop. The lawsuit names the parent companies of TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.     Student-run businesses on the Treasure Coast include coffee shops, doggy day care and catering. Most of the student-run businesses are part of a three-class sequential program. Students are usually paid with volunteer hour credits. Money from the business goes back into the programs for supplies, field trips or scholarships. Customers, profits and entrepreneurship are more than just vocabulary words for many Treasure Coast high school students.
