Data were retrieved for rectal cancer patients (n = 485) with LPN metastasis who received TME and LPND at three institutions from the Chinese Lateral Node Collaborative Group between January 2012 and December 2019 from a prospective database and tumor registry. The Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences served as the initiator of the study, and the ethics committee of Cancer Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences approved this study (NCC 2017-YZ-026, Oct 17, 2017).
