The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of body condition score (BCS) of cull cows on carcass characteristics, carcass cutting yields, profitability, and tenderness development for the longissimus lumborum and psoas major muscles. During a five-week period (May – June 2023), ten boner cull cows (BCS 4 to 6) and ten leaner cull cows (BCS 1 to 3) were purchased at a commercial auction market.
