LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - The trial is underway for a 20-year-old man facing charges related to a shooting last summer at Bill’s Drive-Thru. Jeremiah Washington, 20, is currently charged with felonious assault and aggravated robbery. Both charges carry firearm specifications. In July 2024, Allen County deputies responded to Bill’s Drive-Thru after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found a victim lying on the pavement with serious injuries.

SPENCERVILLE, Ohio (WLIO) – Firefighters battled a three-alarm barn fire in rural Allen County Tuesday afternoon. The Spencerville Fire Department received the call shortly after 1 p.m. for a barn fire in the 1700 block of North Kill Road. There were cattle in the barn at the time of the fire, it is unknown if any of them were killed by the blaze. Roughly half a dozen fire departments from Allen and Van Wert counties responded to assist in fighting the fire.

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - School and community members came out Monday evening for an open house to wish Lima City Schools Superintendent Jill Ackerman well as she nears retirement. Ackerman spent her entire 37-and-a-half-year career with Lima City Schools. She joined the district in 1988 as a substitute teacher and eventually became a full-time special education teacher, working in several buildings. At North Middle School, Ackerman served as assistant principal before becoming principal.
