The offseason program is over. It’s officially summer break for the Giants. That doesn’t mean this team is off your mind, though. We figured it would be a good time to open the mailbag and answer your questions as the team takes a few weeks off before getting back together for training camp. AdvertisementOff we go …There’s nothing Dart can do to win the starting job out of training camp. There is no competition. Russell Wilson is the guy.

AdvertisementOff we go…You’ll get a clearer picture of that come training camp. Organized team activities and minicamp are largely just passing camps. You see fights often in training camp. Players are in full pads. Temperatures near or eclipse triple digits. Bang into the same person for two weeks and the last thing you want to do is bang into them again. One pushes. Another pushes. Fight. During the offseason program, though? Condensed, padless workouts resembling summer camp? No. Players don’t fight then. AdvertisementThat’s what made that brawl between Kayvon Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, James Hudson, and Jermaine Eluemunor so fascinating.

FLORHAM PARK – They didn’t have to be there. Absolutely no right-minded person would have faulted cornerback Sauce Gardner and receiver Garrett Wilson for skipping the Jets' voluntary offseason program, and paying the $100,000 price for a minicamp absence, too. The two are among the best at their positions. In Gardner’s case, his two first-team, All-Pro honors put him in the hierarchy of all players in the league. Both are on their rookie contracts. Both are eligible for contract extensions.

EAST RUTHERFORD – The Giants' plan at quarterback evolved during their second week of organized team activities. Jaxson Dart, the 25th overall pick in this year’s draft, worked primarily with the second unit. Russell Wilson remains the starter. AdvertisementDart struggled some throughout the afternoon. He completed 5-of-9 passes with two interceptions. He took a sack and had two passes broken up at the line of scrimmage. The majority of his completions came within five yards of the line of scrimmage.
