John Mobley Jr. had one of the better freshmen seasons in program history this past year. He averaged 13 points per game, knocked down 77 three-pointers in 32 games, and scored in double-digits in each of his first six college games. When Meechie Johnson left the team in December, he blended into the starting lineup almost seamlessly, providing comparable offense to what the Buckeyes expected to get from the more experienced Johnson had he played all year.

Four-star 2025 Ohio State commit Dorian Jones is not expected to enroll at the university or join the men’s basketball program this summer, Jones confirmed on his social media. Jones, who committed to Ohio State last July, is a 6-foot-4, 160-pound guard out of Richmond Heights High School. He was the second prep commitment to Ohio State during the Jake Diebler era of men’s basketball, after 2026 Marcus Johnson did so in April of 2025.

We still expect Jake Diebler and his staff to add another player before the summer is up, but Williams was one of the last impact players available.

Set Number: X42528 Every city in Ohio is proud of its high school basketball talent. Whether it’s a big town that puts out several D-I players every year, or the smallest village that saw one high schooler play big-time basketball a long time ago, every town has a story of someone who went on to do big things from humble beginnings in their town. But which city has fueled the Ohio State men’s basketball program with the most talent? We will get into that shortly.

A brief update from the mountains -- Dorian Jones is not enrolling at Ohio State this summer. He is still committed to Ohio State, but will likely play one year of JUCO/prep in 2025. https://t.co/YWPgJlHm5v
