The New York Rangers dropped their second consecutive game, losing to the Edmonton Oilers 6-2 on Saturday night in convincing fashion. The Rangers came into the game flat and there is no other way to put it. In the first period, Edmonton bombarded New York with 21 shots as the Bluehsirts were completely outplayed. The speed of Connor McDavid and the Oilers was just too much for the Rangers to handle. Edmonton generated a ton of odd man rushes with New York playing lackluster defense.

SUNRISE, Fla. — Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid has been awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the NHL playoffs after an incredible post-season that finished just short of a Stanley Cup. The Oilers dropped Game 7 of the Cup final 2-1 to Florida on Monday night as the Panthers won the best-of-seven series 4-3. EDMONTON — Connor McDavid scored the overtime winner and added a pair of assists as the Edmonton Oilers bounced back from another dreadful start to defeat the St. Louis Blues 3-2 on Wednesday. McDavid danced past a couple of defenders before chipping a shot past Blues goalie Jordan Binnington 4:34 into the overtime session. McDavid scored his 22nd to snap a 10-game drought without a goal, recording 25 consecutive assists between goals.
