Light & Wonder delivered $774m in revenue in Q1 2025, up 1.6% compared to Q1 2024 and marking the companyโs 16th consecutive quarter of year-on-year consolidated revenue growth. Of the total, the majority of revenue came from the companyโs gaming segment, which delivered 4% growth to $495m. That was driven by growth across all lines of the gaming business segment, Light & Wonder said, with table products up 9% and gaming systems and gaming operations each up by 5%.

The power of AI is increasing exponentially, but using it properly still requires the very human values of taste, intuition and judgement. That’s according to Google managing director and Columbia University Adjunct Professor, Tony Effik, who shared his “optimistic” view on the technology at the NEXT Summit Valletta 2025. Effik gave the keynote speech in the Summit’s Marketing Hub, titled Return of the Polymaths: Redefining Expertise in the Age of AI.

Italian gambling group Lottomatica Group delivered its best ever Q1 results in 2025, with total revenue of €585.7m, up 33.1% year-on-year. The operator’s online segment delivered €239.8m of the total, delivering a year-on-year growth erate of 59.5%. In Q1 2025, the online segment alone narrowly surpassed the company’s total revenue for Q1 2024. The gaming franchise segment delivered an additional €195.5m of the company’s total revenue, consistent with its performance in Q1 2024.

A group of 12 world-leading jockeys have reportedly joined forces to launch a new global horse racing league. The league is expected to launch across some of the most prestigious racing venues globally later this year, and will feature household names including Frankie Dettori, Ryan Moore and William Buick. According to various media reports, each of the 12 jockeys involved will head up their own team, competing for points in up to 10 new six-race fixtures annually.
