Alliance Party assembly member (MLA) Patrick Brown has resigned his South Down seat, the party has said. Announcing the news on Tuesday evening, a spokesperson said Mr Brown's resignation was due to "personal reasons". They thanked Mr Brown for his service and wished him "well in his future endeavours". Mr Brown said: "It has been an honour to represent local people and help them on important issues."He said he was proud of his track record and remained committed to the party's values.

The cost of a new transport hub in Belfast, due to open later, this year has risen to £340m, according to the infrastructure minister. Construction work on bus and rail centre which will be known as Belfast Grand Central Station is in its final stages. It will be the largest integrated transport hub on the island of Ireland. John O'Dowd confirmed the rise during question time at Stormont citing "extraordinary inflation".

Passengers at Northern Ireland airports may continue to face limits on the amount of liquid they can carry in hand luggage this summer. Belfast City and Belfast International airports could not confirm if they will meet the 1 June deadline to install scanners to end the 100ml liquid limit. The deadline has already been extended for Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester. The main Northern Ireland airports have advised passengers to prepare for security as normal.

Churches are places where people gather to hear the word of God but in one south Belfast church holy words are signed. Kinghan Church, on Botanic Avenue, is a worshipping community for those who are deaf and hearing-impaired. 'KC', as it is affectionately known, was founded in 1857 by Rev John Kinghan, a Presbyterian minister who became the principal of the Ulster Society for the Promotion of the Education of the Deaf, the Dumb and the Blind in Belfast.
