The athletic department is creating a display near Stadium Field to recognize the school’s athletic achievements. The inaugural class of 2025, for which the school is currently accepting nominations, will be recognized in the fall. “After over 50 years in existence, Mt. Ararat High School is excited to finally see this Athletic Hall of Honors come to fruition,” athletic director Geoff Godo said in a statement.

Fresh off an entrance to the national polls, No. 23 Bowdoin dominated Thomas College 17-6 on Wednesday. The visiting Terriers (6-13) opened with a four-run first inning, but the Polar Bears (19-4) scored six in the bottom half to take the lead. The home team scored 11 of the next 12 runs, including six in the bottom of the sixth to enact the mercy rule. Bowdoin scored only recorded six hits, but took advantage of 12 walks, two errors and four HBP.

The Morse varsity golf team had its best season in recent memory last year, and with the addition of Chris Whitney as head coach, the Shipbuilders are looking to build upon that success. Whitney joins the Morse program after spending the past seven years at St. Dominic Academy. He will replace Mike Dutton, who retired in the fall after leading the Shipbuilders for seven years.

After 40 years of coaching swimmers at the Bath Area Family YMCA, Jay Morissette is stepping aside. “It felt like the right time,” said Morissette, who will retire after the upcoming summer season. “It’s been 40 years, it’s a nice round number. I’m going to be a grandfather soon. It’s just time.”Morissette joined the Bath YMCA in 1985 after finishing his collegiate swim career at the University of Maine.

PORTLAND — On Wednesday afternoon, the Drive Fore Kids charity golf tournament revealed the names of 30 celebrities registered for this summer’s four-day event. The tournament can’t yet say a few of the other names planning to participate or the concert headliner, but former Major League Soccer MVP Taylor Twellman will say who the latter won’t be. “I’ll save the suspense, I’m not the musical act,” Twellman said.
