Cora HallKnoxville News SentinelKaren Weekly knew what people would think when she pulled Tennessee softball ace Karlyn Pickens after the first inning of the series opener at Texas on April 11. Cora HallKnoxville News SentinelJunior pitcher Karlyn Pickens started Tennessee softball's matchup with No. 1 seed Texas on Friday, but she only threw one inning before she was pulled from the game. Pickens (15-4) struck out two Longhorns and only gave up one walk in the first inning. Tennessee was tied 0-0 with Texas after the first inning, but Pickens didn't return to the circle with the game still deadlocked at 0-0 in the bottom of the second inning.
