FRANKLINVILLE, N.J. -- Fire crews are making progress in containing a wildfire in Gloucester County, New Jersey. Franklin Township officials are expected to give an update on the brush fire later on Thursday. The blaze grew to 150 acres Wednesday night, but officials added that it was 50% contained. New Jersey forest fire officials say a wildfire is considered "major" after it exceeds 100 acres. An incident command post has been established at Janvier Elementary School.

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen is complete again. Two new aldermen were appointed by the board Thursday afternoon during a special-called meeting in the Board Chambers at Collierville Town Hall. After reviewing 39 applications and conducting nine interviews, the board decided to appoint Charles Hall to the Position 1 seat and Jewel Jordan to Position 2. New Collierville Mayor Maureen Fraser administered the oath of office to Jordan and Hall following the brief meeting.

Temperatures in the Memphis area aren’t expected to reach 40 degrees over the next week and the snow isn't likely to melt anytime soon, according to the National Weather Service in Memphis. While mostly sunny skies are expected on Saturday and Sunday, the cold temperatures will remain. The weather service expects a high near 33 degrees on Saturday, with a low around 24 degrees that night. On Sunday, temperatures are forecast to be around 39 degrees, with a low near 27 degrees that night.

The framing has gone up for a credit union’s new corporate office and branch at the northeast corner of Southern Home Road and South Byhalia Road in Collierville. Construction is ongoing for Southern Security Federal Credit Union’s new $7 million, roughly 20,000-square-foot corporate headquarters and member services branch. The project is located on a 1.53-acre site at 819 Southern Home Road and is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
