Michigan State hockey got a big time addition on Friday, bolstering their blue line and getting a player at a very coveted position, right handed defense. Cole Ward, a Rochester Hills (MI) native, has made the move to commit to Michigan State and is expected to join the team this fall. A 2005-born defenseman, he played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL and the Austin Bruins of the NAHL. Ward was previously committed to Northern Michigan, but will now be heading to East Lansing instead.

Michigan State basketball has picked up their second commitment of the transfer portal cycle, securing what appears to be their new starting shooting guard. Samford shooting guard transfer Trey Fort has officially announced his pledge to play for Tom Izzo and Michigan State. This will be his sixth school in six years of college, spending time at Tennessee-Martin, Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Howard College, Mississippi State and Samford.

Michigan State is not expecting to see a ton of departures leave their program, which means the two-deep depth chart should have a good feel to it, and the staff can really focus on upgrading the talent pool at certain positions.

A former member of the Michigan State football program has hit the NCAA transfer portal for the second time. Running back Jordon Simmons has made the decision to leave Ole Miss, after spending the spring in Oxford, entering the transfer portal once again. After spending four years in East Lansing, rushing the ball 137 times for 520 yards, he spent this past year at Akron, running the ball 110 times for 664 yards and two touchdowns.
