PINEHURST — A state runner-up finish from Pennson Badgett highlighted East Surry’s performance at the 2A Golf State Championship on May 12-13. An East Surry golfer has either won a state title or finished state runner-up five times in the past four years. Bradley Davis Jr. was 2A State Runner-up in 2022, then Badgett won the 2023 2A State Championship while teammate Connor Key tied for State Runner-up. Badgett then finished 2A State Runner-up in 2024 and now 2025.
